Knee Pain Relief
Arthritis Relief Without Surgery
Most doctors perform knee injections without fluoroscopic guidance or ARE INJECTING in the wrong area. In addition, Knee injections usually are done without camera guidance or are using cortisone which only temporarily treats the pain.
Our office utilizes FDA approved HYALGAN, which lubricates and cushions an arthritic knee joint. Fluoroscopic guidance confirms the needle is in the right spot, the joint space. Hyalgan is administered in a series of 3-5 treatments given a week apart. Patients usually feel relief right away and can last up to 6 months.
Medicare and most insurances approve the treatment every 6 months.
Our GUIDED INECTIONS combined with our TOTAL KNEE REHAB PROTOCOL hels us achieve lasting results.
Other treatment options for knee pain in our office:
- Cold Laser therapy to increase circulation and decrease swelling
- Kinesiotape to help support knee joint and strengthen muscles
- Physical Therapy to strengthen muscles
- Custom-made orthotics to correct structure of feet, knees, hips and spine
- Chiropractic adjustments to the knee, hip, spine or foot to increase joint flexibility
A knee brace can also help knee pain caused by climbing stairs or getting up from a sitting position.
Consider all your options BEFORE total knee replacement surgery.

What is Cold or Low Level Laser Therapy?
The goal of cold laser therapy is to deliver light energy units (in photons) to damaged cells. Photons are absorbed by the cells and stimulate the mitochondria to accelerate production of ATP.
The biochemical increase in cell energy helps accelerate the bodies healing process by transforming cells from a state of damage to a stable, healthy state.
Why Use Cold Laser Therapy?
The laser is FDA approved, very safe and painless. Medicare and most insurances are covered for treatment.
The laser can help with pain in the:

Diabetic neuropathy patients suffering with numbness and tingling in their hands and feet at night also get great relief.
The laser in our office is one of a very few that can detect where there is inflammation at the painful area. It also gives us feedback when the tissue resistance is normalized and when there is less inflammation.
The laser will beep when it finds a problematic site and beep when corrected. It is common to have less beeps after a few visits at the same area and the patient reports much less pain. It’s truly amazing.
Treatments take about 5 to 15 minutes and results can be seen in less than 3 visits. Most patients need 4- 15 treatments and it is dependent on the severity of the condition.
Therapeutic Laser Biological Effects
Rapid Cell Growth — Laser light accelerates cellular reproduction and growth.
Faster Wound Healing — Laser light stimulates fibroblast development and accelerates collagen synthesis in damaged tissue.
Increased Metabolic Activity — Higher outputs of specific enzymes, greater oxygen and food particle loads for blood cells and thus greater production of the basic food source for cells, Adenosine Tri-Phosphate (ATP).
Reduced Fibrous Tissue Formation — Laser light reduces the formation of scar tissue following tissue damage from: cuts, scratches, burns or post surgery.
Anti-Inflammatory Action — Laser light reduces swelling caused by bruising or inflammation of joints to give enhanced joint mobility.
Increased Vascular Activity — Laser light induces temporary vasodilation increasing blood flow to damaged areas.
Stimulated Nerve Function — Slow recovery of nerve function in damaged tissue can result in “dead” limbs or numb areas. Laser light speeds the process of nerve cell reconnection to bring the numb areas back to life.
